Lillie Mae Black, age 79, and a resident of Morningside Lane in Columbia, passed away Monday, December 16, 2013at her residence.

A funeral service for Mae will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 12:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. The family will visit with friends and family Tuesday, December 17, 2013 from 4-8PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lillie was born on March 24, 1934 in Santa Fe, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Edward Lee and Ruby Stanfill Potts. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker most of her life. Mae was a devoted mother, wife, and sister who loved her grandchildren and great-grandchild with all her heart.

Lillie was survived by her son: Chad Wellington Black of Columbia, TN; daughters: Sheila Black (Ronnie) Rummage, Priscilla Mae Black, both of Columbia, TN; brother: Roger (Sharon) Potts; sisters: Margaret Potts and Sandra Marcrom; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Herbert “Junior” Black, two brothers, Billy and Bobby Potts, and one sister, Margie Potts.

Pallbearers will be Adam Glass, Barry Marcrom, John Marcrom, and Wendell Pullen.
