Robert F Matlock, Jr.

June 13, 1925 - December 19, 2013

Mr. Robert F. Matlock, Jr., age 88, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Arlington Cemetery with Roger Adams officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Born in Williamsport, TN on June 13, 1925, Robert was the son of the late Robert Franklin and Beatrice Holt Matlock, Sr. He was of the Baptist faith and previously worked as a laborer for Stauffer Chemical Company.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory three sons: Phillip (Connie) Matlock, Bobby Matlock, Chip (Annette) Matlock all of Columbia; six grandchildren: Robbie (Mandi) Matlock, Corbin (Sam) Duncan, Clif (Gabby) Matlock, Honey (Clark) Denson, Jon Matlock, Will Matlock; and six great-grandchildren: Molly Matlock, Annie Matlock, Paul Duncan, Luke Denson, Joshua Denson, and Lucy Denson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Ruth Smith Matlock; daughter-in-law: Delores Matlock; and several brothers and sisters.
