Jerry D. Hedrick, age 57, a resident of Dog Creek Road in Primm Springs, passed away Wednesday morning, January 29, 2014 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 1:00pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. James Lunsford, Rev. Ronnie Johnson, and Rev. Gary Fewell officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Thursday, January 30th from 12pm until the service hour at 1pm. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Jerry was born on September 10, 1956 in Maury County, and was the son of Era Mai Hutcherson and the late Dale Hedrick. He worked as a fork lift driver for CPS Factory. He often attended Fly Church of the Nazarene, where he was baptized. Some of his hobbies included playing the guitar and fishing. He also enjoyed squirrel hunting. Jerry was a very thoughtful man, always worrying himself about hungry kids. He will also always be known as a “family man.” He will be missed by all who knew him.

Along with his loving wife of 30 years, Rita Scott Hedrick, he is survived by his mother, Era Mai Hutcherson; sons: Jeramey Dale (Ashley) Hedrick of Spring Hill, and Joshua Brent (Erica) Harvey of Columbia; sisters: Melissa Era Hedrick of Primm Springs; grandchildren: Ansley Marie Harvey, Taylor Brent Harvey, and Jase Darnell Hedrick; along with several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Mike Goins.

In addition to his father, Jerry was preceded in death by his step-father, Darnell Hutcherson.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Harvey, Jeramey Hedrick, Carl Scott, Kenny Scott, Mike Goins, Carl Scott, Jr., Wesley Scott, Joey King, and Chris Dawson.
