Carrie Ponds

October 6, 1933 - January 29, 2014

Carrie Nell Ponds, age 80, a resident of Lewisburg, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 1st at 1:00 PM at the Christ Temple Church in Saltillo, TN, with burial to follow in the Lebanon Cemetery in Hardin County. The family will visit with friends on Friday, January 31st from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Christ Temple Church. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Carrie was born on October 6, 1933 in Hardin County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Alda Mae Clayton. Carrie was of the Baptist faith and loved talking with all the ladies at the church. She also enjoyed coloring in coloring books.

She is survived by her sons: Jeffery Ponds of Lewisburg, James Charles Ponds, Kenny Ponds, and Buster Ponds, Jr., all of Savannah, TN; daughters: Patricia Armstrong of Lewisburg, and Dolly Renee Franks of Savannah, TN; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband Buster Ponds, Carrie is preceded in death by her daughter Carylon Diane Ponds; 2 grandsons: Allen Franks and Tony Ponds; and a granddaughter: Loretta Armstrong.
