Lynn M. Tessier

December 5, 1953 - August 4, 2018

Lynn M. Tessier, better known as “Momma Lynn,” age 64, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Columbia.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Nick Westmoreland officiating. Inurnment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 5, 1953 in Ogdensburg, New York, Lynn was the daughter of the late Merlin French and the late Carol Conger Jacob. She located to Columbia in 2004. One of her biggest hobbies was riding motorcycles. She was a supporter for over two years of the EBGB Motorcycle Club where she was nicknamed “Yankee.” Lynn also enjoyed playing pool. She never met a stranger and was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son: Jason Kelley of Columbia; daughter: Lisa (Eric) Whitmarsh of Russell, NY; step daughter: Janel Colbert of New York; step son: Shane Tessier of New York; “adopted” daughter: Nina Carr of Lewisburg; brothers: Terry French of Massena, NY, Thomas (Debra) French of Liverpool, NY, Donald Jacob, Jr. of Waddington, NY; sisters: Robin (George) Ibanez of Colorado, Candace Trombley of New York; grandchildren: Ashley, Taylor, Mason, Ocean, Lincoln; one great grandchild; and special cat: Crystal.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Tessier on July 4, 2014.

Honorary pallbearers will include: all the members and supporters of the EBGB Motorcycle Club. Anyone who rides a motorcycle and is attending the service is invited to bring their bike in memory and honor of “Momma Lynn.”
