Beverly Gail Newcomb

October 26, 1960 - July 31, 2018

Beverly Gail Newcomb, age 57, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday morning, July 31, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. David Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10AM -12PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 26, 1960 in Columbia, Beverly was the daughter of Bud Hendrix and the late Linda Norman Hendrix. She was a 1978 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended a couple years at Columbia State Community College.

Beverly began working for Pizza at Hohenwald where she worked for many years starting as a waitress, making her way up to manager. She married Larry Newcomb in 1980; he preceded her in death on October 29, 2015. Later in life Beverly began her career as a loan officer at Green Street Cash Advance in Columbia where she worked for several and was most recently employed at 3D Financial in Columbia. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church.

Beverly loved spending her spare time on the beach and swimming with the dolphins. She also enjoyed playing tennis and especially loved spending time with her granddaughter, Brooklyn.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Brandon Newcomb of Columbia, Justin Newcomb of Columbia, Chris Newcomb of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter: Brooklyn Grace Newcomb; sisters: Joan Hendrix of Texas, Daphne Hendrix of Michigan; and brother: Mark Hendrix.

Pallbearers will be: Keith Lyons, Josh Balcewicz, Josh Jones, Darran Cates, John Adams, and Garet Munn.
