Martha Ann Cornelius

June 7, 1934 - July 27, 2018

Martha Ann, Cornelius, age 84, a resident of Summertown, passed away early Friday morning, July 27, 2018 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Monday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Smith and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4-8PM and again on Monday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 7, 1934 in Landersville, Alabama, Martha was the daughter of the late Edward Lane and the late Leona Chaney Lane. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Summertown. Martha was married to Marion Levi Cornelius for fifty-eight years; he preceded her in death in February 14, 2008. She loved country music, and was an avid Loretta Lynn fan. Martha enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, as well as, going to yard sales and making trips to Goodwill. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: L.D. (Portia) Cornelius of Summertown, Gerry Cornelius of Columbia; daughters: Linda (Daniel) Bobo of Summertown, Patricia Blair of Columbia, Shirley Graham of Columbia, Sandra “Sandy” Phillips of Summertown, Joannie Shively of Columbia, Kathy Cornelius of Lockport, LA, Melissa Cannady of Summertown; brother: Junior (Margaret) Lane of Wolf Springs, AL; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Levi Cornelius; son: Bobby Cornelius; grandson: Brandon Graham; great great grandson: Weston Slonaker; brothers: William Thomas Lane, Henry Edward Lane; and sisters: Letty Mae Cornelius and Mandy Borden.

Pallbearers will be: Daniel Bobo, Bobby Joe Spires, Jr., Tommy Andrews, Randy Cornelius, Christopher Cornelius, Justin Cornelius, Mathew Shively, Dalton Cannady, Austin McDannels, and Matthew Slonaker. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
