Mr. Andrew Johnson Meeker, Jr., age 71, husband of Sue Haywood Meeker, and a resident of Nashville, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at Tri Star Southern Hills Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 9 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Andrew and Trina Sottek officiating. Burial will follow in Knob Creek Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 8 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on May 26, 1947 in Nashville, Andrew was the son of the late Andrew Johnson Meeker, Sr. and the late Joy Dimple Richardson Meeker. He loved God and attending Radnor Church of Christ in Nashville where he was a member. He enjoyed sports, including football and baseball, and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Andrew liked listening to music, and you could often find him wearing a ball cap. He appreciated flowers, especially red roses. Andrew loved his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to Sue, his wife of 50 years, he is survived by his son: Andrew Johnson Meeker III of Nashville; daughters: Janice Lee Meeker of Nashville, Trina Renee (Andrew) Sottek of Franklin; brothers: Joseph Anthony (Ivonne) Meeker of Wisconsin, Carl Pascall (Alicia) Meeker of Indiana, Mark Erwin Meeker of La Vergne; sister: Lollie Orelene Simmons of Fayetteville; and grandchildren: Nathan (Paige) Sottek, Jonathan Sottek and Benjamin Sottek.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
