Ruby Joyce Watts

Ruby Joyce Willis Hargrove Watts, age 81, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 at Magnolia Healthcare.

A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Theta Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 31, 1936 in Franklin, Ruby was the daughter of the late Malcom Robert Willis and the late Johnnie Velma Fitzgerald Willis. She was of the Baptist faith and worked many years at Durango Boot Company in Franklin. She enjoyed playing BINGO and loved to dance and go on walks. Ruby had a special place in her heart for children, and especially loved her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her children: Kathy Sue Burk of Chapel Hill, Timmy (Shirley) Hargrove of Columbia, Karen Clark of Caney Springs Community; grandchildren: Jennifer (Akiva) McKissack, Jonathon Hargrove, Jessica Konz, Jasmine Hargrove, Kayla Frizzell, Jacob “Jake” Clark, Marine Lance Corporal Hunter Clark; and great grandchildren: Jillian “Birdie” McKissack, Patrick McKissack, and Triston Hargrove.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Malcolm Robert “Bobby” Willis, Jr.; and sister: Sarah Louise Whitt.

Pallbearers will be: Jacob “Jake” Clark, Jonathon Hargrove, Marine Lance Corporal Hunter Clark, Akiva McKissack, and Patrick McKissack.
