Debra A. Wells

July 29, 1954 - June 28, 2018

Mrs. Debra A. Wells, age 63, wife of Jeff Wells, and a resident of Knob Creek Road in Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, June 28, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. David Buffaloe officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 5-7PM and again on Sunday from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 29, 1954 in Hohenwald, Debra was the daughter of the late Wilkins Webster Thurman and the late Doris Angus Thurman. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked as a cashier at Kwik Sak. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Bo and Nickey. She enjoyed watching old TV movies. Debra had a friendly personality. She loved to talk and never met a stranger.

She is survived by her husband: Jeffrey Wells of Columbia; biological brothers: Sam Ashworth of Mt. Pleasant, Shorty Ashworth of Mt. Pleasant; biological sisters: Brenda Ashworth of Columbia, Doris (Gene Brown) Ashworth of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law: Lillian Davis of LaVergne; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be: Charles Williams, Mike Davis, Eli Davis, Larry Brown, Ken Knox, Ronnie Allen, and Joseph Dick. Honorary pallbearers will include: James Waldrop and Bubba Davis.
