Mr. Douglas Emerson, age 81, a resident of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday at 10AM at Evans Cemetery in Goodsprings, Alabama with a memorial service immediately following the burial at Solid Rock Baptist Church: 136 Griffin Road, Prospect, TN 38477. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN is assisting the family with arrangements.
Douglas was a certified welder. He worked at Forrest City Machine Works and at Delta Steel as a welder. He was a farmer for a time. He ran and owned several different Service Stations up North. He also ran and owned with Mary a used Furniture store and a Restaurant. He went into the siding business with his brothers Walter and Jerry. He did siding with his brother Hassel Emerson also. Douglas "Doug" enjoyed watching old Westerns and Wrestling on TV. For many years he enjoyed fishing and camping with his first wife and children when they were all young. In his later years he enjoyed his time with his brothers eating his favorite food. Chinese....
He is survived by his children: Lyn (Angie), Donna (Paul), Jackie (Dawn), Paul "Peewee”, Kenneth "Scooter" (Rhonda); and brothers: Walter Emerson and Jerry Emerson. He leaves behind many nieces and nephews and was blessed with twenty-seven grandchildren and thirty-one great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his present wife: Diane Jean Emerson; first wife of seventeen years: Annie Mae; second wife of seventeen years: Mary Emma; father: Walter Bee; mother: Ida Pearl; brothers: Grady Emerson, Earl Emerson; daughter: Lisa Morse; and granddaughter: Courtney.
