Marjorie Quirk Toy, age 86, resident of Raleigh Beard Road in Santa Fe, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Mansfield, Pastor Rick Points, and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Adkison Cemetery in Santa Fe. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:30 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Marjorie was born on March 17, 1932 and was the daughter of the late John David Quirk and the late Jessie Ellen Dial Quirk. She was a devoted Christian and member of House of Prayer Baptist Church. Marjorie married her love, Lester A. Toy December of 1958, and they spent 56 wonderful years together. They enjoyed gardening and attending Gospel singings. While her husband served in the Army for 27 years, Marjorie and her family moved to Texas where they lived for many years. She and her son, Kenny, even traveled with Lester and resided in Germany while he was stationed there. Lester preceded her in death on November 6, 2014. Marjorie loved animals and animals loved her! She was an excellent cook who loved caring for and helping others. Marjorie was always proud of her two sets of twin grandchildren. Her daughter, Dianne had twin sons, and her daughter, Debbie had twin daughters. She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving mother and grandmother who had the best personality and loved to laugh.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son: Robert “Kenny” (Annette) Johnson of Kempner, TX; daughters: Dianne (Harvey) Boone of Ashland City, Debbie Bristol of Santa Fe; sister: Rachel Quirk of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Keith (Grace) Nielsen of Santa Rosa, CA, Tracy (Allen) Fagan of Columbia, Staff Sgt. Jeremy Boone of Ashland City, Justin (Dayna) Bristol and Christi Bristol both of Denton, TX, Daniel (Ginia) Johnson of Harker Heights, TX, Candice (Levi) Panting of Springfield, MI, Emily (David) Hodges of Lampasa, TX, great grandchildren: Patrick Nielsen, Chance Fagan, Aaron Fagan, Broc Bristol, Sage Johnson, Maddy Boone, Shaylee Boone, Annabel Bristol Bruce, Bristol Panting, Cassie Johnson; nephews: Clyde (Louise) Quirk, Willard (Lula Bell) Taylor; and niece: Kathy (Rick) Johnson.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother: Billy Quirk; sister: Bessie Lee Quirk Taylor; and grandson: Sgt. 1st Class Jamie T. Boone.
Pallbearers will be: Allen Fagan, Justin Bristol, Broc Bristol, Staff Sgt. Jeremy Boone, Wayne Harvey, Chance Fagan, and Aaron Fagan.
