Martin Kenneth Brown, Sr., age 83, a resident of Westwood Drive in Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, May 3, 2018 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Vassar and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kenneth was born in Pulaski and was the son of the late Mark Brown and the late Beulah Anderson Brown. He graduated from East High School in Nashville and drove a truck for Union Oil Company for twenty seven years. He was a long time member of Pleasant Height Baptist Church, but recently was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. His hobbies included raising doves and playing golf. He enjoyed going to Tennessee Walking Horse shows and watching his son and the Keith Baker family show horses. He also loved taking his son fishing. He volunteered at Maury Regional Medical Center driving the caravan and was a long time member of the Civitan Club in Columbia. He served as a minister of music for Rock Springs Baptist Church in Columbia and Third Baptist Church in Nashville. He was also a member of the Counselors Quartet. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife: Thelma June Farmer Brown; son: Kenny “Tazz” (Marion Woodruff) Brown, Jr.; daughter: Betty Denise (Jeffrey Wade) Collins; grandchildren: Kendall Brown (Stan) Farrar, Misty Collins (Jeremy) Filson, Travis Abston, and Steven (Velvet) Collins; great grandchildren: Annalee, Brayden, and Derek Price, Jax Collins, Lexy, Jade, and Zack Keeley.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin children: Tina Brown and Lucinda Brown; sister: Margaret Ernestine Norris; step sisters: Geneva Byrd and Flossy White; step brother: Arthur White; and son-in-law: Russell Edward Price.

Pallbearers will be Derek Price, Dustin Tart, Chad Tart, Frank Thomas, Travis Abston, and Keith Baker.
