Hazel Marie Akers

October 27, 1928 - April 23, 2018

Hazel M. Akers, age 89, resident of Culleoka, passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 28 at Wastenong Memorial Park in Ann Arbor, MI. Heritage Funeral Home of Columbia is in charge of arrangements.

Born October 27, 1928 in Primrose, KY, she was the daughter of the late Abner and Martha Denton Jewell and wife of the late Virgil Akers. She worked on the assembly line for Ford.

Mrs. Akers is survived by her son: Keith (Vickey) Akers of Culleoka; brother: Donnie Coomer; sister: Anna Lee Moore; step sister: Sandra Coomer Spencer; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Kenneth Akers; brother: Lowell Jewell; step son: Phillip Akers; step daughters: Suzanne Ricabonno, Jerrie Collett and Janice Cina.
