Mr. Aubrey “Ty” Duncan, Jr., age 59, husband of Kimberly Vaughn Duncan, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Herb Helton and Pastor Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 4-8pm and again on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ty was born on December 16, 1958 in Columbus, Georgia and was the son of the late Aubrey T. Duncan, Sr., and late Joan Wigginton Duncan. He earned his Associate Degree from Tuskegee Institute in Alabama and worked as a Physical Therapist at Quality First Home Care. Ty married Kimberly Vaughn on June 9, 2003 and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.
He loved playing the guitar and listening to music, especially Classic Rock. He was an excellent cook whose family said they would rather eat his cooking over going to a restaurant any day. Ty was an avid Harley Davidson motorcycle rider and will take his final ride to his eternal rest in the Heritage Funeral Home Harley Davidson Tombstone hearse.
Along with his wife, Kim Duncan, he is survived by his son: Corey (Delaney) Duncan of Columbia; daughters: Mandi (Michael Matthews) Duncan of Columbia, Whitney (Allan) Herrington of Columbia, and Michelle (Bobby, Sr.) Hickman of Mt. Pleasant; sister: JoAnn Simmons of Phenix City, AL; grandchildren: Conner Duncan, Kamdyn Duncan, Landry Duncan, Cash Herrington, Bobby Hickman, Jr. and Haley Hickman; and great granddaughter: Adalyn Reese Curtis.
Pallbearers will be Michael Matthews, Tommy Vaughn, Allan Herrington, Corey Duncan, Brian Woods, and Chris Craig.
