Mr. James Pewitt, age 47, a resident of Owens Drive in Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Williamson Medical Center.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 11am at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating.  The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4-8pm at the funeral home and again on Saturday from 10am until the 11am service.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

James, also known as “Redneck” or “Monoply” was a Maury County native and was the son of Margaret Lucille Spencer Stanfield.  He graduated from Santa Fe High School and was a tow motor driver in the GM plant for Ryder.  He enjoyed wood working, fishing, and kayaking.  Most of all, he loved to work in his garden and furnish everyone in the neighborhood with vegetables he had grown.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his son: Joshua Edward (Brittany) Pewitt of Columbia; daughters: Dessa Kay Pewitt and Deloris Elizabeth Rose Pewitt and fiancé Kevin Lopp, both of Columbia; brothers: Billy (Sarah) Johnson of Williamsport and Joey (Laurie) Pewitt; sister: Melissa (Buddy) Dodson of Columbia; grandsons: David Lee Mitchell and Dawson Edward Lopp; uncle: Edward Perry Spencer, Jr.; very special friend and mother of his children: Tammy Renee Knight of Columbia; nieces: Rachel Dodson, Rachel Ward, Katlynn Johnson, and Baylie Pewitt; nephews: Garret Johnson, Tyler Saum, Hayden Dodson, and Jacob Pewitt; and father and step mother: Joel (Kathy) Pewitt.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Edward Perry Spencer, Sr. and Dolores K. Spencer; and step father: Donald Stanfield.
