Helen Ruth McKee

June 16, 1927 - March 11, 2018

Helen Ruth McKee, age 90, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia with Shawn Jefferies officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday from 11AM-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Columbia, Helen was born on June 16, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Sloan Love and the late Izetti Young Love. Helen was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ, but growing up and most of her life she was a member of Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Helen worked many years as a seamstress and also enjoyed gardening, cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her home. She loved to travel and go on vacation. Helen never met a stranger and enjoyed talking to and getting to know other people. She was an excellent mother and wife and was devoted to her family. Most of all, Helen was a devout Christian and believer who looked forward to the day she got to go home to Heaven.

She is survived by her daughters: Dianne (Jerry) Brady of Columbia, Janice (Zac) Martin of Franklin; sister: Judy (Tommy) Counts of Columbia; sister in law: Minnie Ellen Johnson of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Joel Brady of Columbia, David (Heather) Brady of Columbia, John (Stephanie) Brady of Columbia, Dr. Sam (Erica) McElroy of Savannah, GA; great grandchildren: Taelor Brady, Thomas Brady, Madison Brady, Samuel McElroy, Charlotte McElroy; great grandchild on the way: Lacy Brady; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: George William McKee; son: Donnie Wade McKee; and siblings: Paul Love, Allen Love, Marion Love, David Love, and Peggy Mabry.

Pallbearers will be: Joel Brady, David Brady, John Brady, Thomas Brady, Tommy Counts, and James William Hill.
