Mrs. Judy Kay Victory, age 68, wife of Marshall Victory, and a resident of the Water Valley Community, passed away Wednesday evening, February 21, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Boshers and Bro. Lawrence Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery in the Theta Community. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-8PM and again on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on September 9, 1949 in Humphreys County, Judy was the daughter of the late Thurston Gidcomb and the late Irene Armstrong Gidcomb. She married Marshall Victory on June 12, 1966 and together they had four children. Judy was an active member of Church of God of Prophecy where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Besides her work as a homemaker, she also worked several years in the cafeteria at Santa Fe School. Judy was a loving and caring person who enjoyed scrapbooking, going out to eat, watching the Hallmark Channel, and reading “Chicken Soup for the Soul” books. She loved her family, but especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Marshall of 51 years, she is survived by her children: Phillip (Melody) Victory of Waynesboro, Lisa (Gary) Birdwell of Williamsport, Sandra (Patrick) Demastus of Lynnville, Sabrina Victory of Williamsport; siblings: Betty Jean (Johnny) Lightfoot of Columbia, James (Mary) Gidcomb of New Johnsonville, Peggy (David) Stephenson of McEwen, Maxie Gidcomb of New Johnsonville, Johnny Gidcomb of New Johnsville, Gary (Diane) Lindsey of Paris, Charlie (Sheila) Southern of Columbia; grandchildren: Anthony Victory, Joshua Victory, Jonathon (Demetria) Victory, Josey Victory, Mercedes Patterson, Dylan Birdwell, LilyPearl Demastus, Annebelle Demastus, Augustus Demastus; great grandchildren: Kara, Kyler, Tavis, Brentley, Marshall, Jasmin, Colby, Sophia, Gabriel, Jedediah; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her great grandchild: Marley Victory.
Pallbearers will be: Anthony Victory, Jonathan Victory, Joshua Victory, Dylan Birdwell, Josey Victory, and Augustus Demastus. Honorary pallbearers will include: Jeffery King, Michael King, and Joshua Southern.
