William Herbert Swingle

Mr. William “Moon” Swingle, age 88, husband of Antoinette Swingle, and a resident of Nunnelly, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at his residence.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Martin Memorial Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Centerville at 2:00PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 18, 1929 in Port Jervis, New York, Moon was the son of the late Henry Swingle and the late Lois Edwards Swingle. He served his country in the United States Navy and enjoyed golfing, hunting, gardening, and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Blakely Swingle of Huguenot, NY, John (Tracie) Swingle of Biloxi, MS, Fred Swingle of Centerville, TN, Choie (Jackie) Lewis of North Carolina; daughters: Kim (Corby) Armitage of McDonald, TN, Tammy (Marty) Hirshkorn of Ooletwah, TN, Antoinette (Paul) Lennon of Nunnelly, TN, Lynn Swingle of Wawarsing, NY, Elizabeth Swingle of Dickson, TN, Chelsea Swingle of Dickson, TN, Jessie (Jeremy) Hackert of Centerville, TN, Malea Swingle of New York; twenty-six grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Chester, Charlie, Wayne, and Blakely Swingle; and sisters: Leah Keener and Grace Dudko.
