Wilburn Dale Hill, 74, resident of Columbia, passed away 11:34 pm on Saturday, February 10 at Maury Regional Transitional Care.

A memorial service for Mr. Hill will be conducted Tuesday at 5PM, February 13 at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Norton and David Spencer officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.

Born May 7, 1943 in Columbia, he was the son of the late Wilburn and Effie Potts Hill and husband of Betty Carol Porter Hill. Mr. Hill was a graduate of Santa Fe High School, attended Martin Methodist College and was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. He worked as a chemical operator for Rhone-Polanc and Mobile Chemical Company. He had many hobbies which included fishing, golfing, camping, reading, gardening, neighborhood cookouts, coffee with friends at Shoney’s, baking peanut brittle, ham breakfasts at Riverside church and watching SEC football. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Tammy Hill (Ron Fultz) of Brentwood, Lisa (Clint) Kelley of Nashville, Kendall (Frank) Ibarra of Columbia; brothers: David (Debbie) Hill, Roger (Linda) Hill and Dean ( Edith) Hill; sisters: Holly (Randy) Brady and Shirley (Larry) Thomason; grandchildren: Scarlett Ibarra, Brandon Ibarra, Kendal Kelley, Dulin Kelley; very special friends of the family: Harry and Frieda Parish, Randy and Salene Walters and Rhonda and Johnny Parham of Columbia and their children: Dalton, Samantha and John Jr.; beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Donald Hill and Sherron Hill.
