Elna Thurman

April 7, 1942 - February 9, 2018

Elna Faye Duckworth Thurman, 75, resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, February 9 th at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thurman will be held on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 1PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Tracey Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.

Born April 7 th , 1942 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late A.L. and Carrie Smithson Duckworth and the wife of James “J.O.” Thurman. She was a 1960 graduate of Central High School and a member of Central Christian Church. She worked for the Maury County Education Association for 6 years and for Middle Tennessee Bank for 16 years. She loved traveling with her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter: Lisa Thurman of Columbia; sisters: Joyce Parks of Manchester and Dot Williams of Henderson; brother-in-law: Bobby (Glenna) Thurman; several nieces and nephews; and her grand dog: Cooper.

Pallbearers will be Randy Thurman, Glen Thurman, Tanner Thurman, Jim Wilson, Dennis Holden and Ray Holden. Honorary pallbearers will be member of Central Christian Church.
