Mr. Michael “Mike” Kelley, age 63, husband of Joyce Kelley and resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at his home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jeremy Alsup and Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Mike was born on April 6, 1954 and was the son of the late Howard Kelley and the late Mary Lorene Gilmore Kelley. He was the owner and operator of Mike’s Painting and was a long time member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, NRA. Mike was very successful competitive archer winning several indoor and outdoor archery tournaments, including the Triple Crown archery tour. Mike was an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son: David (Veronica) Miller of Smyrna; daughter: Dottie Menko of Pennsylvania; brothers: Dwight Kelley of Columbia, Randy Kelley of Columbia; sister: Brenda Kay (Duran) Shults of Etheridge; grandson: Daniel Menko of Philadelphia; granddaughter: Hannah Miller of Smyrna; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Michael Forrest Kelley; brothers: Bobby Wade Kelley and Joe Kelley.

Pallbearers will be: Ted Johnson, Chad Fletcher, Brett Kelley, Gary Tucker, Terry Kelley, and Anthony Hardison.

Honorary pallbearers will include: William Alsup, Matt Alsup, Brandon Cantrell, Chris Whorley, and his regular card playing buddies.
