Alyssa Faith Roland, age 13, a resident of Double Branch Road in Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Clay Gentry officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1-4PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Alyssa was born on December 28, 2004 in Nashville and was the daughter of Timmy Dewayne Roland and Mandie & Jeff Mandell. She was a 5th grade student at Spring Hill Elementary School and attended Lanton Church of Christ. Alyssa was truly a miracle child who was an inspiration to many. Alyssa loved to smile and laugh and could light up any room. She enjoyed listening to music, watching television, playing with animals, and travelling with her family whom she loved dearly. Alyssa will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her twin sister: Ariel Roland; siblings: Mason Roland, Emma Roland, Sophia Carter; grandparents: Sonia Fernett of Columbia, Mike Upton of Florence, AL, Danny & Cathy Roland of Columbia; great grandparents: Dot & Houston Thomason of Columbia; and uncles and aunts: Cody Fernett of Columbia, Terry (Tiffany) Roland of Columbia, Shelby (Terry) Brooks of Culleoka, Kenny Thomason of Pulaski, Perry Thomason of Pulaski, Carrie Wiley of Prospect,TN, Nicole Taylor of Alabama, and Chance Upton of Georgia.
