Dennis C. Marcy

April 24, 1944 - January 19, 2018

Dennis C. Marcy, age 73, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday evening, January 19, 2018 at NHC Pulaski where he had been living the past two and a half years.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 10AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastor Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Peace in the Maury Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 24, 1944 in Carpentersville, IL, Dennis was the son of the late Johnny Carl Marcy and the late Lucille Fern Estes Marcy. He was a manager of Countrywide Mobile Homes in Arkansas before moving to Columbia where he managed Scott Housing. He then did maintenance at Hampshire Apartments and later worked in maintenance for Kentucky Fried Chicken. He was also the owner of his own junk store.

Dennis is survived by his sons: Daniel “Danny” Lee (Tina) Marcy of Columbia, Troy (Teresa) Marcy of Lewisburg and Matt Wayne (Tracy) Marcy of Pulaski; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Ann Bach Marcy; and sister Dorothy “Dot” Marcy.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
