Melissa Hedrick

February 16, 1953 - January 9, 2018

Melissa Hedrick, age 64, a resident of Dog Creek Road in Primm Springs, passed away Tuesday evening, January 9, 2018 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Howard Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 11AM-12PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Melissa was born on February 16, 1953 and was the daughter of Era Mai Hutcherson and the late Dale Hedrick. She was a 1972 graduate of Santa Fe High School and completed nursing school at Columbia State Community College. She was a member of Elmore Church of the Nazarene and worked as an RN for various different nursing homes in Columbia. Melissa enjoyed music and in her younger years enjoyed playing the guitar. She had a great personality and sense of humor and was always laughing. She loved Jesus and never met a stranger.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her nephew: Jeramey (Ashley) Hedrick of Chapel Hill; and great nephew: Jase Hedrick.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother: Jerry Hedrick; step father: Darnell Hutcherson; and uncle: Mahlon Hutcherson.

Pallbearers will be: Jeramey Hedrick, Mike Goins, Brandon Jones, Phillip Hutcherson, and Troy Hutcherson.
