Mr. Richard Glynn Anderson, age 88, husband of Elise Anderson, and a resident of Tindell Lane in Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, December 28, 2017 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Rolman and Pastor Lon Byrd Broyles III officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Promise in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 5-7PM and again on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 20, 1929 in Maury County, Glynn was the son of the late Joseph Moncy Anderson and the late Mary Thelma Stockard Anderson. He served his country in the National Guard and attended Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He married Elise Jones on September 18, 1952 and together they had two children. Glynn worked at Union Carbide for thirty-seven years before retiring in 1991. He enjoyed gardening, playing pool, dancing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Elise of 65 years, he is survived by his son: Michael Glynn (Patty) Anderson of Columbia; daughter: Sandra (Tony) Malugin of Columbia; sisters: Margaret Rochelle of Columbia, Robbye Nell Anderson of Columbia; grandchildren: Eli Glynn Anderson of Columbia, Natalie Lynn Anderson of Columbia, Kaylee Elise (Chase) Laws of Santa Fe; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother: George Lynn Anderson; brother: Billy Ward Anderson; and sister: Mary Jo Kerr.

Pallbearers will include: James Earl Jones, Frank Jones, Jr., Mark Jones, Ricky Jones, Doug Wells, Jimmy Rochelle, Eddie Kerr, and Terry Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will include: the Union Carbide Retirees, the Water Valley Community Center friends, and the members of Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
