Mr. James Albert Jones, age 67, a resident of Columbia, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5th at 3:30PM at Heritage Funeral Home with.  Elder Ruben Flemming officiating   Burial will follow in the Garden of Freedom at Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.  The family will visit on Friday from 2:30PM until the service hour at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

James was born August 24, 1950 in Giles County and was the son of the late Robert Lee Jones and late Loucile Jones.  He was raised by his grandparents, the late James H. Angus and late Louise Angus.  He graduated high school in Giles County and joined the National Guard. He was a painter for Industrial Doors.   James accepted Christ and joined Central Baptist Church and became a Deacon and later united with First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife: Inez Jones; son: Noval Cornelius Mays; brothers: Robert (Paulette) Jones and Andy Jones; sisters: Sandra Kay Jones, Pearline Jones, Patricia Jones, and Jackie Jones; uncle: James (Mildred) Angus; aunts: Bessie Knight, Lizzie Amis, and Barbara Waire; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with his parents and grandparents he is preceded in death by his brothers: Gene Jones, Kaylo Jones, and Joe Clayborne Jones; and sister: Francis Louise Jones.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Maury Regional Critical Care Unit for their kindness shown to them.
