Mr. Jose Varela Guindazola, age 82, husband of Gail Guindazola, and a resident of Old Highway 99 in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11AM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chip Hunter officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Garden of Love in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 10-11AM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on February 3, 1935 in Williams, Arizona, Jose was the son of the late Jose Guindazola and the late Maria Varela Guindazola. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Jose loved working; he enjoyed people and made friends with everybody. He also enjoyed flowers, gardening, doing yard work, going out to eat, and travelling the world.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons: Jose Guindazola III of Panama City, FL, John J. (Kim) Guindazola of Whittier, CA, Joe (Terri) Ciprian of Dickson, TN, Todd (Kellie) Ciprian of College Grove, TN; daughters: Jodi M. Huie of Joshua, TX, Ramona A. Herman of Glendora, CA, Tammy L. (Joseph) Barnes of Jacksonville, FL; seventeen grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
