Viola Louise Lemon

March 21, 1926 - December 20, 2017

Viola Louise Lemon, age 91, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with James Rochelle officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Freedom at Maury Memorial Gardens.  The family will also visit with friends on Friday from 1-2PM at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Viola was born March 21, 1926 in Lincoln, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Bertha Donaldson.  She worked as an administrative secretary for Genessee County Mental Health System.  She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church and was a beautician.  Some of her hobbies included roller skating, camping, sewing, and crocheting.  Above all she loved being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Sherley Lemon of Columbia; sons: Dennis (Sharon) Lemon of Columbia and Terry (Marcella) Lemon of Columbia; brother: Ben (Marlene) Donadson of Swartz Creek, MI; grandchildren: Nicole Chapman (Mike Anger), Shannon (Don) Krug, Shawn (Jamie) Rochelle, Terri (Lee) Vaughn, and Denise (Russ) Barnes; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her brothers: Glen Donaldson and Roy Donaldson; and sisters: Doris Slater and Lillian Bowman.
