Michael William “Mike” Singleton, 67, resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, December 9th at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Funeral services for Mike will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 16th in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Songer and Care Pastor Harold Hidle officiating. Entombment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born July 16, 1950 in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Robert and Jane Singleton and husband of Phyllis Meade Singleton. Mike was a member of the UAW 1853 and worked as a group leader for General Motors before retiring. He was a people person, which led him to serve as a Maury County Commissioner. He loved his children and grandchildren, who were his world, and fishing was his hobby.
In addition to his loving wife, Mike is survived by children: Chase Singleton, Cristle Singleton and Hailey Singleton (Jose) Poindexter, all of Columbia and Donald William Justice of Michigan; and brother: Danny Singleton of South Carolina.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Kathy Singleton; and brother: Bobby Singleton.
Pallbearers will be: Randy Meade, Chase Singleton, Cliff Simpson, Larry Pennington, Derrick Hanserd, and Taylor Reynolds.
