Bennie Lee Grove

January 12, 1932 - December 4, 2017

Bennie Lee Grove, age 85, husband of Toby Grove and resident of Centerville, passed away Monday, December 04, 2017, on his and his wife’s 62nd wedding anniversary.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 4:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with military honors provided by the United States Navy with Pastor Rick Points officiating.  The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be held at a later date in the Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bennie was born January 12, 1932 and was the son of the late De Bruce Grove and the late Gladys Bean Duffy.  He worked as an Engineering Aide for AT&T for thirty years.  He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War.  He enjoyed history and was a Civil War relic hunter. Some of his hobbies included fishing, traveling with his family, and building model airplanes.  He also enjoyed all kinds of music.

He is survived by his loving wife, Toby Grove of Centerville; son: David Griffith Grove of Annapolis, MD; daughters: Cynthia (Walter Jacob) Hanselman of Nunnelly, TN and Katharine (Daniel James) Hildebrand of Locust Grove, VA; grandchildren: Rachel Ann Schomburg Hall, Jack “Gus” Adamson, Olivia Madeline Reed, Aaron Michael Hildebrand, Marie Ruth Teckenbrock, Beth Renee Witherspoon, Christoffer Jon Hanselman, Aimee Marie Yvette Hildebrand, and Danielle Alexina Jeanne Hildebrand.
