Judie Mae Bellafant Williams, age 72, resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017 at her residence.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, December 7th at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Verline Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Judie was born June 4, 1945 in Columbia, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Tommy and Grace Bellafant. She attended Carver Smith High School in Columbia, Tennessee. She met her sweetheart of fifty five years, who was her husband of fifty two years, Wallace Pat Williams, Sr. who preceded her in death. Judie went on to work at General Electric. She worked at General Electric for twenty one years and only retired due to factory closing. After retirement, she volunteered with Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Maury Regional Hospital, Hillview Nursing Home, Signature Healthcare, Maury County Senior Citizens Center, Red Cross, Neighborhood “Keep America Beautiful”, Silver Sneakers Instructor, to name a few. Judie loved all sports, especially the Tennessee Titans and Golden State Warriors.
Judie joined and was baptized at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in 1965 under the leadership of Reverend J.C. Wray. Judie was a faithful servant. She served in different capacities as needed such as Advisor of the Junior Usher Board, Choir President, Usher Board President, the Chairman of the Kitchen committee and member of the prayer warriors.
She leaves behind to cherish her precious memories her two devoted children: Anglie (Horace) Minnieweather of Lavergne and son: Wallace (Selika) Williams, Jr. of Lewisburg; two adopted grandsons: Ricardo (Jasmine) Williams of Columbia and Tronice Wadale (Neferti) Williams of Smyrna; five grandchildren; great grandchildren special in her heart: Serenity Williams, Alyssa Williams, Mason Williams, Jaxson Williams; God daughter: Kamaria Stevenson; Devoted brother: James Bellafant of Columbia and Brother Walter Bellafant of Detroit; Sisters: Hester Woodard, Wilniter Bellafant, and Anniedene Waters of Columbia; two brothers in law: Billy E. (Brownie) Williams and Charles Jenkins of Columbia; ten nieces; four nephews and devoted friends: Rudolph and Francis Lockridge; Mother Aletha Lawshea, Minister Verlen Jones, Dorothy Carter, Diane and Darlene Polk.
Special in her heart: La Teamma Lyons of Detroit, MI, Arleen “Niesey” Ingram of Madison, AL, Darlene Shaw of Lavergne, TN, Brenda Haynes of Franklin, TN, Randy Duke, Mattie Gordon, Carrietha Jackson, and Mr. & Mrs. Joe Richardson, as well as other relatives and devoted friends.
