Mrs. Stacey Jean Brown, age 28, wife of Chase Brown, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Duke University Hospital in North Carolina after a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Phil Mash and Mylan Coble officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3-7PM and again on Sunday from 1-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 7, 1989 in Springfield, IL, Stacey was the daughter of Steve and Patty Casson Evoy. She attended Little Flower School, the Heritage Public Schools, Independence High School, Columbia State University, and earned her bachelor’s degree in 2011 from Middle Tennessee State University. In 1994, Stacey received the Young Heroes Award from the 183rd Fighter Group. She was a member of the ROTC where she was the Battalion Commander for over 230 cadets and held the highest rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Stacey married Chase Brown on August 2011 and together they had one son, Jackson Brown who meant the world to her and was her life. She worked as the Human Resource assistant at Williamson Medical Center and in her spare time she enjoyed crafting, fishing, and cooking. Stacey was a proud recipient of a double lung transplant from Duke University Hospital and was very grateful to the donor for giving her such a generous gift.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband: Chase Brown of Columbia; son: Jackson Brown of Columbia; parents: Steve & Patty Casson Evoy of Thompson’s Station; paternal grandparents: Raymond & Frances Evoy of Springfield, IL; mother-in-law: Susan Brown Cox of Culleoka; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.

Honorary pallbearers will include the Columbia Fire Department.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the account set up in Jackson Brown’s name at Ascend Federal Credit Union.
