Mr. James “Jim” Clifford Johnson, age 72, husband of Joyce Love Johnson, and a resident of Culleoka, went to be in the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 17, 2017 at his residence.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A Masonic service will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday with the funeral service immediately following with Don St. Clair officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin America Legion Post 19. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Affectionately known as Pop, Jim was born on May 11, 1945 in Clarksburg, West Virginia and was the son of the late Charles Johnson and the late Edna Goff Johnson. He served his country in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic from 1964 – 1968. He was a member of Mooresville Baptist Church and a member of the Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge # 138. A perfectionist at his job, Jim worked as a machinist for Union Carbide and Cytech. He married Joyce Love on March 16, 1996. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, and grandfather. James was a master of all things and could fix anything. He enjoyed singing karaoke, but most of all, he loved to help people.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Shannon D. Johnson (Tony Lehew) of Portland, Shane Gladden (Karen) of Culleoka; grandchildren: Connor, Caroline, and Adler Gladden; mother-in-law: Georgia Love of Culleoka; father-in-law: Kenneth B. Love, Sr. of Columbia; brother-in-law: Kenneth B. (Stacey) Love, Jr. of California; and several nieces and nephews; and beloved dogs: Sophie and Bailey.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Bob Johnson; sisters: Virginia Hewitt, Annita Davisson; and step son: Chris Gladden.

James’ Masonic brothers will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include: the members of Mooresville Baptist Church and his Masonic brothers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Willowbrook Hospice, nurse Jaime, Dr. Jameson and his nurse Vanessa, and his physical therapist Hillarie for their care and compassion during the difficult time.
