James C. "JC" Scrimpshire

September 14, 1930 - October 26, 2017

James Curtis ("JC") Scrimpshire, age 87 of Columbia, TN and Huntsville, AL, passed away on October 26, 2017 after a brief illness at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be conducted on Monday, October 30th at 12:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Jeffrey Kane and Rev. Rosemary McMahan officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Promise in Maury Memorial Gardens, located adjacent to the funeral home.  The family will visit with friends on Monday from 10:00 AM until the 12:00 PM service at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

JC was a loving husband, father and brother and achieved many goals in life that he had set for himself.  As a young man in US Navy for four years, he attended and graduated from Dental Technician General at Great Lakes, Illinois, and Dental Technician, Prosthetic at Bethesda, Martyland. JC was the retired former co-owner of Scrimpshire Dental Lab, with partner and friend, Dave Hix.  JC's many interests included raising cattle on his former farm in Huntsville, AL., traveling, boating, and cheering on his favorite football team, Crimson Tide of University of Alabama.  In JC's words, Roll Tide!

JC is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Juanice; 2 sons: Jimmy and Greg (Debra); grandson: Royce; sister: Jean Marie Goodman and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Johnnie, 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

Pallbearers will be Randy Jackson, Randy Finley, Randy Lister, Bill Mitchell, Jimmy Burrows, Ray Mayes, Ricky Lister.  Honorary pallbearers will be James (Sonny) Sessions, Jack Saylors, Skip Blackburn, Ralph Erskine, and Bruce Ables.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers donations be sent to:  Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2800 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, Tn. 38401 .
