Sgt. 1st Class Jamie T. Boone, age 43, a resident of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the Ft. Riley, Kansas Army Base.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 1PM in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Phillip Mansfield, Pastor Rick Points, and Keith Baker officiating. With full military honors provided by the United States Army, Jamie will be laid to rest in the Garden of Freedom in Maury Memorial Gardens adjacent to the funeral home. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on May 15, 1974 in Dallas, Texas Jamie was the son of Harvey Boone and Dianne Johnson Boone. He was a 1993 graduate of David Crockett High School in Johnson City. With a deep love for his country, Jamie joined the United States Army on November 16, 1999. During his military career, he served four tours overseas: once in Afghanistan, twice in Iraq, and once in Korea. He earned many awards, ribbons, and medals including: seven Army Commendation Medals, five Army Achievement Medals, one Valorous Unit Award, five Army Good Conduct Medals, one National Defense Service Medal, one Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/ Bronze Service Star, one Iraq Campaign Medal w/ Bronze Service Star, one Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, one Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, one Korean Defense Service Medal, one Humanitarian Service Medal, three Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbons, one Army Service Ribbon, four Overseas Service Ribbons, one Combat Action Badge, one Parachutist Badge, and one Marksman Badge.

Jamie enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of a world-wide running club.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter: Madelynn Rose Boone; twin brother: Staff Sgt. Jeremy Boone of Ashland City; sister: Tracy (Allen) Fagan of Santa Fe; maternal grandmother: Marjorie Quirk Toy of Santa Fe; aunts: Debbie Bristol of Santa Fe, Betty Mosher and Ella (MJ) Metzger both of Texas; uncles: Malcom (Tonya) Boone and Kenny (Annette) Johnson both of Texas; cousins: Christi Bristol, Candi Panting, Janet Barrington, Emily Hodges, Keith Nielsen, Justin Bristol, Scott Metzger, and Daniel Johnson; nephews: Chance Fagan, Aaron Fagan both of Santa Fe; and niece: Shaylee Boone of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Lester Toy; paternal grandparents: Arrie Bell & JB Boone; and uncle: Jessie Boone.

The United States Army will serve as active pallbearers.
