Sharon Stone, age 62, a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1-3PM at the funeral home. A private graveside service will be held at Arlington Cemetery at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sharon was born on November 3, 1954 in Dearborn, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Myrland Harrison Wood and the late Norma Faye Collins Pike. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Sharon earned her Associate Diploma as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Columbia State Community College where she went on to be a nurse at Maury County Hospital. She later earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Science from Kennesaw State in Georgia and began working at Atlanta Grady Hospital as a Registered Nurse in Life Flight. In 1990, she moved back to Columbia and worked in the Intensive Care Unit and the Critical Care Unit at Maury County Hospital for many years before becoming a charge nurse at the Saturn plant. Later in life, she owned Birds and Bygones antique store in Columbia. Sharon specifically loved animals, second to spending time with her grandkids. She was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.

She is survived by her daughter: Lisa (David) Howell of Columbia; grandchildren: Bradley Sutliffe and Brianna Howell; great grandson: Noah Sutliffe; and half brother: Gary (Marcia) Milby of Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Cecil Dale Wood; and half brother: Larry Collins.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Bradley Sutliffe, David Howell, Jim Poling, Reed Poling, and Gary Milby.

The family requests memorial donations be made to the Maury County Animal Shelter: 1233 Mapleash Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401.
