Robert D. Shearer

June 29, 1955 - September 28, 2017

Robert D. “Bob” Shearer, 62, resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, September 28, at the Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.

The family will hold a memorial visitation from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Monday, October 2, at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Robert was born June 29, 1955 in Escondido, CA, son of Mark Shearer and the late Shirley Hoffman. He was married to Cathy Miller Shearer. He worked in the skilled trades for General Motors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved working in his garage on anything with a motor.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sons: Brian Havrilla of Charles Town, WV, Joshua Robert Shearer of Murrieta, CA and Robert D. Shearer, Jr. of Chapel Hill; 10 grandchildren. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by brother: William Shearer.
