Mr. Robert “Bob” C. Wolfe, age 92, husband of Betty Wolfe, and a resident of Campbellsville Pike in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his residence.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 11AM at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Davis Chackaleckel officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 4-7PM with a Rosary Service beginning at 7PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 21, 1924 in Lapeer County, Michigan, Bob was the son of the late Clare A. Wolfe and the late Rose Holm Wolfe. He was a 1943 graduate of Midland High school in Midland, MI and served his country as a Navy Sea Bee from June 1943 to February 1946. Bob married Betty Umenthum on August 21, 1948. He earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in 1952 from Central Michigan University. Bob retired from Dow Corning Corporation in January of 1981. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. Bob loved nature and being outdoors, and in his younger years, he enjoyed taking his children for walks in the woods and picking berries. He also enjoyed raising and breeding beagles and going hunting. Bob enjoyed golfing and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Above all, he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Betty of 69 years, he is survived by his children: Mary Joy (Robert) Lucas of Casselberry, FL, Rita (Lucien) Coenen of Terramurra, New South Wales, Australia, Rex (ZoAnn) Wolfe of Lynchburg, TN, Sherry (Brian) Reedy of Rochester Hills, MI, Lucinda (Tim) Giblin of Tucson, AZ, Martin Wolfe of Denver, NC, Timothy (Dawn) Wolfe of Conway, SC, Heidi (Ron) Zolkiewicz of Crestwood, KY; sister-in-law: Delores Radank of Wisconsin; twenty grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Troy Wolfe; brother: Donald Wolfe; sisters: Violet Schneider, Helen Snell, Rose Valasco; and father & mother-in-law: Albert and Sophie Umenthum.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
