Brenda Carol Dunn Wilburn, age 64, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, September 19th at 11:00 AM at True Vine Baptist Church in Columbia Tennessee with Rev. Donald L. Coney officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Promise in Maury Memorial Gardens, located adjacent to the funeral home.  Her body will lie in state on Monday, September 18th from 4:00-7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Brenda was born on June 12, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan and was the daughter of the late Cecil T. Dunn, Sr. and Dorothy Dunn.   She attended Michigan State University majoring in Sociology.  Brenda had a lifelong commitment to serving the Lord.  She was a devoted church member of True Vine Baptist Church for over 20 years where she served as a member of the choir, missionary board, women’s ministry, and Sunday school teacher.   She was a Girl Scout leader for Troop 862 in Columbia and was part of Operation P.R.I.D.E with Spring Hill High School.  Most of all, Brenda loved spending time with her grandchildren and sharing the word of God with family and friends.

Along with her mother, she is survived by her daughter: Anitra (Tavis) Farmer of IL; brothers: Michael Dunn and Cecil Dunn, Jr., both of Detroit, MI; sister: Sheila (A.J.) Tumpkin of Detroit, MI; and grandchildren: Darien Farmer and Devin Farmer of IL; nephew: Brandon Dunn of Detroit, MI; nieces: Jade and Geeanna Madison of Detroit, MI; grandniece: Lyric Madison of Detroit, MI; and honorary daughter: Clarissa Coleman of Culleoka, TN.
