Larry Goodman

July 9, 1954 - September 8, 2017

Mr. Larry “Moonie Pie” Goodman, age 63, a resident of Rogersville, AL, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, AL.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Hurricane Cemetery in Rogersville, AL with Jerry Marlow officiating. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, TN is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 9, 1954 in Lauderdale County, AL, Larry was the son of Marjorie McDonald Goodman Nash and the late James Oakley Goodman. He previously worked as a millwright, was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rogersville, AL, and attended Hurricane Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Larry loved to sing and entertain and even once auditioned for Hee Haw. He was a fun and loving person who loved to make people happy and laugh. He was considered one of the biggest cut-ups in Rogersville, AL. He was an amazing cook who enjoyed cooking fish and chicken and goat stew.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son: Larry Christopher “Chris” Goodman of Rogersville, AL; brother: James “Myron” (Sissy) Goodman of Rogersville, AL; sister: Teresa (Dale) Weathers of Five Points, TN, Regina “Gina” Nash of California; grandchildren: Peyton Goodman, Sara Goodman; special friend: Kim Goodman (Terry) Garner; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kelsey Marie Goodman.
