Joan E. Sweeney

Joan Elaine Sweeney, age 72, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017 at her residence.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with all arrangements.

Joan was born May 27, 1945 in Columbia, TN, to the late Fred Davis and the late Hazel Turner Davis. She was a homemaker, enjoyed reading, and watching TV.  In her early years she enjoyed planting flowers and crocheting. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters: Sherry Allman (Wendell) of Mt. Pleasant and Mary Ann Thomason (Doug) of Mt. Pleasant; former husband: Alvin Sweeney of Culleoka; brother: Fred Edward “Eddie” Davis of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren: Melissa Pounder, Nikki Davis, Justin Thomason, Josey Thomason and Tyler Ferrell; great- granddaughters: Karin Elizabeth Davis, Kayley Davis and Gracie Davis; and two nieces: Angela Hickman (Ron) and Jennifer Ann Davis.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Steve Davis and a grandson: Corey Davis.
