Mrs. Bonita Jane Westfall, age 71, wife of Stephen Westfall, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10AM-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 2, 1946 in Indianapolis, IN, Bonita was the daughter of the late Nickolas Francis Knorr, Sr. and the late Rosa Gertrude Froman Knorr. She married Stephen Westfall on January 30, 1968 and together they had three children. She was of the Methodist faith and worked as a corporate caterer and an event and party planner for thirty years. Throughout her career span she planned and catered events for the Indianapolis Colts, Indianapolis 500, Classic PGA Tour, and worked locally for Party Place and Morrison’s through General Motors. She enjoyed cooking and trying new recipes. She loved nature and the outdoors including: bird and butterfly watching, fishing, camping, and feeding the squirrels and birds. She was an avid sports fan who loved every sport imaginable including: golf, football, baseball, horse races, and many more. She found great pleasure in traveling, specifically to Hawaii. Bonita dearly loved her family, and especially loved being a grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband, Stephen of nearly 50 years, she is survived by her sons: Shawn (Kathy) Westfall of Washington D.C., Christopher (Dawn) Westfall of Columbia; daughter: Tracy (Anthony) Huff of Columbia; brother: Robert (Beverly) Knorr of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren: Amber (Tavis) Ross, Ashley Rhodey, Zachary Westfall, Alston Huff, Stevye (Travis) Howell, Kerri (Daniel) Cummins, Brandon (Alicia) Westfall, Katlyn Westfall; and great grandchildren: Hadley Howell, Braxton Fisher, Hunter Fleeman, Ethan McCain, Preslee McCain, Carrigan Cummins, Wyatt Cummins, Logan Stanfill, Lexie Stanfill, Brilee Stanfill, Kaden Reynolds, Karver Reynolds, Mason Cantrell; and baby Hudson Westfall on the way.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Helen Sorley; brothers: Nickolas Knorr, Jr. and Donald Knorr, and grandson: Jonathan Stanfill.

The family would extend a special thanks to Dr. Ball and staff, Dr. Covarrubias and staff, Dr. Jameson and staff, Home Healthcare of Middle Tennessee, Hospice Compassus, Brianna Boshers, and Jennifer Cates for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
