Mr. Frank Risten Hope, age 75, husband of Judith Hope, and a resident of Running Deer Drive in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Grace in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 18th from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 23, 1942 in Beckley, West Virginia, Frank was the son of the late Virgil Hope and the late Swanee Ellison Hope. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. He was retired from General Motors where he worked as a tool maker and was one of the four people who headed up the last huge project at Saturn in Spring Hill. Frank was a friendly person who was always smiling, and his wife described him as being a good listener.
In addition to his wife, Judith of 56 years, he is survived by his son: Frank (Karen) Hope, II of Rochester, MI; daughters: Vicki Hope of Columbia, Cindy Hope Whisman of Columbia; brother: Henry (Alene) Hope of Michigan; grandchildren: Ashley Hope Whisman of Columbia, Lauren Mary Hope of Michigan, Sarah Elizabeth Hope of Michigan, Kendyl Fabian Hope of Michigan; and future grandson: Kevin Hamilton of Columbia.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Kathy Charette.
