Mrs. Judy G. Brown Burns, age 66, wife of James Burns and resident of Greens Mill Road in Spring Hill, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Dave Brown and Rev. Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas M. Brown Cemetery in Spring Hill. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on July 18, 1951 in Maury County, Judy was the daughter of the late Thomas Mayhew Brown and the late Meta Bell Brown. She was a graduate of Spring Hill High School and worked the majority of her life tending to her home and raising her son. Judy was an avid Lady Vols and Tennessee football fan. She was extremely proud of the picture she had made with Pat Summitt. Judy enjoyed planting and manicuring her flower garden. Judy especially loved her husband, son, and granddaughters.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son: Thomas Robert Burns (Christina Finley) of Columbia; father-in-law: R.M. “Buddy” Burns of Santa Fe; brothers: Harold (Margie) Brown of Orlando, FL, Terry (John) Brown of Spring Hill; sisters: Shirley (Joe) Farlow of Columbia, Jennie (Billy) Ring of Spring Hill, Patsy (Harold) Huey of Columbia, Peggy (Stan) Robertson of Columbia, Deborah (Larry) Collins of Springhill; sisters-in-law: Wilma McConnell of Cross Plains, Joanne (Wayne) Pruitt of Columbia, Brenda (Mike) Johnson of Columbia, Debbie (Charles) James of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Julia Burns and Alyssa Burns; and the mother of her granddaughters: Jennifer Hooker of Columbia.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Daisy Burns.
Pallbearers will be: Freddie Ring, Kevin Ring, Jerry Gilliam, Walter Robertson, Drew Collins, Adam Collins, and Kenny Brady.
