Grace Corine Adams

Mrs. Grace Corine Gilliam Adams, age 86, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 12PM at Heritage Funeral Home with John Voss officiating. A private family graveside service will be held in the Garden of Hope at Maury Memorial Gardens following the service. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10AM-12PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on May 17, 1931in Columbia, Grace was the daughter of the late Hollis L. Gilliam and the late Maggie Lee Craig Gilliam Hill. She married Dory Lawrence Adams, Jr. in 1948, and he preceded her in death in October of 2016. Together they had three children: Patricia Adams Delk of Columbia, Jerry Lawrence Adams of Madison, and Vickie Adams (Jim) Matthews of Pegram. She and her husband enjoyed a long and happy retirement on their farm. Grace was a member of Highland Church of Christ.

In addition to her children, she is survived by her granddaughter: Jennifer (Brent) Pendleton of Lawrenceburg; great grandchildren: McClain, Carynne, and Mason Delk, Laurelle Patmore, Ryan, Justin, and Lauren Pendleton; nieces: Linda Parks (Carl) Moore of Culleoka, Nancy Parks Crumley of Culleoka; and granddaughter-in-law: Laurie Delk of Columbia.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson: Bryan McClain Delk; and sister: Elaine Parks.

Pallbearers will be: Roscoe Voss, Michael Voss, McClain Delk, Mason Delk, Brent Pendleton, and Jerry Harrison.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Danny Jewell, Wayne Voss, and Bob Jones.
