Jewell Hill Griggs

February 29, 1924 - July 9, 2017

Mrs. Frances Jewell Griggs, age 93, a resident of the Bethel Community on Leipers Creek Road, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 12th at 10AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jason Hill and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, July 11th from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jewell was born February 29, 1924 in Maury County and was the daughter of the late Frank Hill and late Jennie Ashworth Hill. She was married to Richard Griggs, who preceded her in death in 1995. She worked as a clerk for H.G. Hills Grocery for over thirty years. She last attended Theta Church of Christ. Jewell enjoyed watching TV and drinking coffee. She was a lady who loved socializing with anyone who would listen. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son: Gilbert (Nancy Jean) Griggs of Santa Fe; grandchildren: Cody (Jennifer) Pack and Tad Griggs; and great grandchild: Haley Pack.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Claude, Luther, and Howard Hill; and sisters: Tiny Gaskell, Lois Givens, Pearl Nellums, Lucille Lewis, and Lilly Hill.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
