William A. Wright

March 18, 1927 - July 2, 2017

William (Bill) Anthony Wright I was born and raised in Ohio. His parents were Clarence and Celia Wright. He was married to Wilma Irene Hanson.  They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary shortly before she preceded him in death in 2015.

Family: Bill is survived by a sister, Joan (John) Stingel; brother-in-law, Tom (Linda) Hanson and sister-in-law, Ethel (Bob) Steele,  his three children, William (Linda) Wright, Steve (Jan) Wright, and Pat (Jan Johnson) Wright; five grandchildren, Katrina (Paul) Swaim, William (Jamie) Wright, Amber (Daniel) Lufiyele, Adam (Jodi) Wright, and Allison (Parker) Polidor; and ten great grandchildren, Katie, Caleb, Seth, Riley, Dalton, Mufaro, Kudashe, Waylon, Kirk and Cora.

His life : Bill served as part of the occupational force in post-war Japan. After service he married and worked in sales for four decades.  He enjoyed traveling extensively with his wife, Wilma.  He continued to travel after her death.  He stayed active and played full sets of golf up until a few weeks before his death.  He has been a member of the Snellville Church of Christ for the last 32 years. He enjoyed people and loved spending time with family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Snellville Church of Christ on Saturday, July 15th at 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Southeastern Children’s Home, 115 Children’s Way, Duncan, SC 29334.
