Odes "Odie" Roger Bowshier

July 29, 1964 - June 30, 2017



Mr. Odes ”Odie” Roger Bowshier, age 52, a resident of Spring Hill, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 30, 2017 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Bowshier will be Wednesday July 5th at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with A K Robinette officiating and burial to follow in Hurt Cemetery in Spring Hill with military honors. The family will visit with friends from 11AM until the 2PM service at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Bowshier was a member of Cross Country Cowboy Church and a United States Army Veteran. He served over twenty years in the Army, was a Staff Sergeant, and did a tour in Afghanistan.   He loved his family and had a special love for his grandson, Daniel, which he called “little buddy.”   Daniel was the light and joy of his life. It was a joy for him to stop and help anybody in need because he was such a giving person. He was such a hardworking man, a devout Christian, and a warrior for the Lord and his country. His moral and ethical compass was always driven by the Lord.

Mr. Bowshier is survived by his wife: Yvette “Yve” Heltz Bowshier; parents: Roger Otis Bowshier and Elizabeth L. Adams Bowshier of Urbana, OH;  daughter: Jennifer Dietzen-Hoover of Spring Hill; son-in-law: Jake Hoover; grandson: Daniel Dietzen of Spring Hill; granddaughter: Madison Hoover; sister: Ronica Segovia (Ralph) of Urbana, OH; brother: Bobby Bowshier (Nikki) of Springfield, OH; nieces & nephews: Sierra, Preston, Aaron, Noah, Logan, Brandon, James, Azlan, Lance, Evan, Abby, Maggy, Halle, Gabby, Faith, Heather, Matty, Jr., and Karrin; father and mother-in-law: Bob and Fran Rhine; father-in-law: Jay Heltz; brothers-in-law: Matthew Heltz (Sherry) and Gregory Heltz (Heather); long time dear friends: JT and Michelle Taylor and Todd and Cathy Shaw; and also many aunts, uncles, and many wonderful redneck cousins.
