Annie Mary Armstrong

November 3, 1939 - June 30, 2017

Annie Mary Armstrong, age 77, a resident of Nashville, formerly of Columbia, passed away Friday, June 30, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Kenneth Brinkley officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 3, 1939 in Maury County, Annie was the daughter of the late Early Carter and the late Essie B. Mayberry Carter. She was baptized at Newtown Church of Christ in Spring Hill and before moving to Nashville was a member of Carmack Boulevard Church of Christ in Columbia. She was most recently a member of Ramsey Street Church of Christ in Nashville. Annie was a devout Christian lady and a strong minded and very loving person.

She is survived by her sons: Michael (Felecia) Armstrong of Columbia, Darrell Armstrong of Goodlettsville; daughters: Mary (Terrell) Watts of Smyrna, Alleschia (Sean) Beard of Nashville, Gloria (Dwayne) Mayberry of La Vergne; brother: JD Carter of Atlanta, GA; sisters: Iguster Carter of Nashville, Larrisle (Gerald) Prowell of Columbia; grandchildren: Furtesha Carter, Shatrina (Thomas) Thorps, Timothy Zirker, Starkesha (Richard) Whitman, Travonte Davis, Darrell Mayberry, Megan (Brandon) Daniels, Marcus (Amanda) Brooks, Antionette Armstrong, Derrick Armstrong; twenty-four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Roy Gene Armstrong; brothers: Mack Carter, Clarence Carter; sisters: Margie Williams, Hazel Whitfield, Eloise Carter; and grandson: Roderick Armstrong.

Members of the family will serve as honorary pallbearers.
